C'est là que nous nous sommes dit pourquoi ne pas lui redonner vie... C'est ainsi qu'est née la marque TAKHLILA un projet qui préserve Le patrimoine mahdois en Tunisiens tout en lui insufflant une touche contemporaine. C’est de cet héritage qu’est née TAKHLILA : une marque qui préserve ce patrimoine mahdois, en lui insufflant l’élégance contemporaine.

History Over the Past 15 Years

Its origins trace back to a traditional Tunisian garment from Mahdia, worn at weddings and symbolizing authenticity and refinement. An ancestral piece with a unique character and rich history, embroidered with golden silver thread and silk, giving it all its value and beauty. In the past, the TAKHLILA would be passed from neighbor to neighbor during special occasions as a symbol of sharing and community. That’s when we thought—why not bring it back to life?

From this heritage, TAKHLILA was born: a brand that preserves this Mahdia legacy while infusing it with contemporary elegance.

HANDMADE

Contile is a twisted or coiled metallic thread, traditionally used in high-end artisanal embroidery. Made from precious metals or alloys (gold, silver, gilded silver), it is applied by hand to bring decorative, rich, and embossed motifs to life on fine textiles.
